Cameron Laidlaw Foundation Your voice is heard
A community-led foundation built on lived experience

Your voice is heard.

The Cameron Laidlaw Foundation was created in memory of Cameron Laidlaw, whose experiences highlight the challenges many neurodivergent young people face within education and support systems. Cameron’s story inspires our mission to raise awareness, listen to families, and advocate for better understanding and support for children with autism and other additional needs. By sharing lived experiences and learning from them, we hope to help create a future where no child feels misunderstood, unsupported, or unheard.

The foundation is a community-led initiative supporting children, young people, and families affected by neurodiversity, mental health challenges, and the difficulties many families face when navigating education and support systems.

Inspired by lived experience, our aim is to build a compassionate network where families can share their stories, feel heard, and help shape the kind of support that is truly needed in our community.

What the foundation is about

We want people arriving here to quickly understand the kinds of things the Cameron Laidlaw Foundation cares about, the support we hope to build, and how families can connect with us.

We are building this website as a welcoming space for families who are struggling with their child’s neurodiversity, schooling, mental health, or the wider challenges that can come with trying to get the right help. We know how overwhelming that journey can feel. Our hope is to grow a strong, compassionate network where lived experience matters, awareness is raised, and families know they are not alone.

As the foundation continues to grow, we would love to hear from parents, carers, and families about the kinds of support, events, guidance, and community initiatives that would make a real difference.
